紙漿漂白的目的是除去蒸煮後漿料內殘留的木質素和色素，提高漿料的純度，使紙漿具有潔白的色澤。漂漿機是普遍應用的壹種漂白設備，它由漂漿池螺旋推進器、洗鼓等部件組成。漿料和漂白劑放在池中並不斷加入洗滌水，借助螺旋推進器的作用在池中循環流動，完成混合和化學反應的過程。帶有漂白生成物和殘余漂液的水通過洗鼓內腔排出，使得到潔白的紙漿。
